Li H, Wang Z, Hu B - Zookeys (2015)

Bottom Line: Four new Epicephala species that feed on the seeds of Glochidionsphaerogynum (Phyllanthaceae) from Yinggeling Mountain Nature Reserves in Hainan Province of China are described: Epicephaladomina sp. n., Epicephalaimpolliniferens sp. n., Epicephalaangustisaccula sp. n. and Epicephalacamurella sp. n.The latter two species are also associated with Glochidionwrightii.Photographs of adults and genital structures are provided.

Mentions: In the course of studying the coevolutionary relationships between Epicephala moths and Glochidion plants in Yinggeling Mountain Nature Reserves of Hainan Province, we identified four new Epicephala species. Epicephaladomina sp. n. and Epicephalaimpolliniferens sp. n. are associated with Glochidionsphaerogynum (Müll. Arg.) Kurz; Epicephalaangustisaccula sp. n. and Epicephalacamurella sp. n. are associated with both Glochidionsphaerogynum (Figs 1–4) and Glochidionwrightii Benth.
