Mentions: PNRD has several key characteristics to promote its capacity for functional search and analysis. Figure 2 shows the organizational structure of our database. Each ncRNA in PNRD has at most seven parts of annotated information: (i) basic information, (ii) sequence information, (iii) gene structure, (iv) function-related publication, (v) target information, (vi) RNA secondary structure and (vii) expression profile information. The literature-based search allows users to look up functional descriptions of related ncRNAs in the collected literature and three searching methods are provided to help users get what they need. Two prevalent tools focusing on ncRNA analysis were introduced into PNRD: miRanalyzer (30) and CPC (33) toolkits.
