Mentions: Ventricular homogenates from both TNF-α-injected and control mice were used to determine Nox2 and Nox4 mRNA levels by real-time PCR and protein levels by immunoblotting. Analysis of Nox2 mRNA revealed a significant increase in mice injected with TNF-α 1 day previously (1.6-fold) compared to controls (Fig. 2A). However, no significant difference was observed between Nox2 mRNA levels of mice injected with TNF-α 7 and 28 days previously and control mice.
