Mentions: To understand the reasons for the discrepancy between diabetic oral glucose tolerance test response and normal intravenous glucose tolerance test response, we measured the incretin hormones in response to the mixed-meal tolerance test (Fig. 2). The 30-min areas under the curve for active GLP-1 and total glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide were 350.9 and 740.2 pmol/l, respectively, which are lower than the sparse data on these hormones in the literature in this age group.
