Mentions: Telocytes have Tps containing typical podoms that were easy to recognize in our TEM images in the lamina propria (Figs 1 and 2) beneath the simple columnar epithelium of the uterus. These cells meet the ultrastructural criteria for TCs (Fig. 2) and have long (tens of micrometers) and thin (50–200 nm) cellular processes called Tps. The prolongations emerge from the cell bodies and are very long and extremely twisted. The dilated part of the prolongation is clearly visible (Fig. 3). There are mitochondria (Figs 2 and 4) and vesicles in both the cell bodies and the processes (Fig. 4).
