Bottom Line: The title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(19)H(16)O(2)P)], obtained serendipitously during recrystallization of 1-hydroxy-benzotriazolyl (S(p))-2-(diphenyl-phosphino)ferrocene-1-carboxyl-ate from meth-anol, crystallizes in the chiral space group P2(1)2(1)2(1).Its crystal structure not only confirms the anti-cipated absolute configuration but also establishes a rather regular geometry for the ferrocene unit, devoid of any significant deformation due to the attached substituents.In the crystal, symmetry-related mol-ecules are linked via weak C-H⋯O inter-actions.

ABSTRACT
