The clivus marks that center skull base - a wedge shaped bone including the sphenoid sinus (air) and the pituitary fossa (sella turcica).  The corpus callosum and superior sagittal sinus (thrombosed in this patient) should be reviewed.  The pineal gland (orange oval) is just below the deep venous structures: the internal cerebral veins join to form the great vein of Galen, shich drains into the straight sinus going toward the confluence of sinuses (Torcula of Herophili).
