ABSTRACT

Lesions of the lung parenchyma are usually localized by lobe, and somtimes by segmental anatomy. Normal anatomy for the lobes of the lung: • RUL - Right Upper Lobe • RML - Right Middle Lobe • RLL - Right Lower Lobe • LUL - Left Upper Lobe (and Lingula) • LLL - Left Lower Lobe

LUL - Left Upper Lobe.  The lingula is the portion of this lobe adjacent to the left heart border.  Lesions here may cause silhouetting of left heart border, which is shown in green.
