Drawing. Chiefly affected are the basal cisterns and, to a smaller degree, the subarachnoid spaces of the longitudinal and sylvian fissures as well as the inner CSF spaces (i.e. the ventricles). This pattern of distribution is present, for instance, in tuberculous meningitis.
