ABSTRACT

Diagnosis: Foreign Body Aspiration (peanut)

History: 17 month old boy presents to Emergency room with stridor.

Findings: Expiratory chest radiograph shows appropriate loss of volume of the left lung but persistent air trapping without loss of volume of the right lung.

Ddx: Foreign body aspiration Mucus plug Right middle lobe pneumonia

Dxhow: Bronchoscopy performed with removal of peanut from right mainstem bronchus.

Exam: Temperature is normal. Stridor on inspiration and expiration.
