ABSTRACT

Diagnosis: Neurofibroma

History: 52 year-old-male presents with medial elbow pain.

Findings: Radiographic examination demonstrates a rounded soft tissue mass in the medial aspect of the elbow. MRI findings include a T2 hyperintense fusiform tumor. On T1 weighted imaging, the mass is homogenous and isointense to muscle. The tumor strongly enhances follwing Gadolinium administration. Note that this infiltrating mass is contiguous with the nerve.

Ddx: Neurofibroma vs Schwannoma (neurilemmoma). Cat scratch disease may have similar plain film findings.

Dxhow: Biopsy demonstrates a tumor composed of nerve fibers, fibroblasts, Schwann Cells and collagen.

Exam: Palpable mass in the medial elbow.

No MeSH data available.

AP radiograph of the right elbow demonstrates no osseous abnormality with a barely discernable 3.0 x2.5 cm mass in the soft tissues proximal to the medial epicondyle.
