ABSTRACT

Diagnosis: Lipomas of the small bowel

History: Sixty-three year-old man with upper abdominal discomfort.

Findings: Multiple intraluminal small bowel collections of fat, consistent with lipomas, are demonstrated. The largest measures approximately 3.1 x 1.7 cm, and is located in the third portion of the duodenum.

Ddx: Gastrointestinal lipomas

Dxhow: CT attenuation measurements

Axial CT performed following the administration of intravenous and oral contrast, demonstrates an ovoid, well-circumscribed, fat attentuation mass in the third portion of the duodenum.  Incidental calcifications in a normal diameter abdominal aorta.
