ABSTRACT

Diagnosis: Lipomatous Hypertrophy of the Atrial Septum. (HU correlated visually and metrically with normal fat, and this is the typical location of a known, common entity.

History: abdominal pain, rule out mesenteric ischemia

Findings: Normal abdomen. Lipomatous hypertrophy of the atrial septum. Three-vessel coronary artery calcifications. Cardiomegaly.

Ddx: lipomatous hypertrophy of the atrial septum atrial septal neoplasm

No MeSH data available.

Four axial CT images with IV contrast demonstrate a diffuse, well-circumscribed thickening of the atrial septum. The HU measurement of the thickened area is consistent with normal fat. Cardiomegaly and coronary atherosclerotic calcifications are also noted.
