ABSTRACT

A caricature of Catherine II's complicity in the murder of her husband Peter III and of Fox's allegedly acting against the interests of Great Britian in its dealings with Russia. Three busts on pedestals are positioned against the wall of a gallery. The two busts on either end are labelled Demosthenes and Cicero respectively. The unlabelled bust in the middle is a likeness of Fox. Two pictures representing caricatures of Catherine II of Russia hang on the wall above the bust. Between the two pictures is a circle surmounted by an imperial crown and inscribed "Conjugal Love A Cure for the Haemerroidical Cholic". The circle encloses a noose.
